The WIDS 2007 Information Brochure
WIDS 2007 will take place on the weekend of the 23rd-25th of November. It’s overarching theme will be that of “The role of Global Governance in Development”.
This Brochure illustrates the work achieved by WIDS so far and its objectives for the future. It describes the positive relationships that WIDS has established with professional institutions such as the OECD Civil Society Department and the International Labour Organisation, and other societies such as the Warwick Humanitarian Federation and the U8. A summary of the past Summit and an outline of the one taking place in November 2007 is also included.
The WIDS Post Summit Magazine 2006
The inaugural Warwick International Development Summit, organised by Warwick University students in December 2006, was a determined effort to foster enthusiasm and interest for questions of development in a knowledgeable and dynamic student audience. Our magazine follows up on this event and delves further into the issues raised at the WIDS talks.
We have compiled original articles from development experts around the world who share their perspectives on how the economic and institutional challenges facing poor countries are to be addressed. Our contributors come from a variety of professional backgrounds and offer highly varied recommendations for combating global inequality.
